Saturday 12th February 2022 10am-4pm We are delighted to be welcoming Wooden Tom to our studio in the New Year. In this one-day course you will learn how to make a beautiful, practical and ergonomic cooking spoon from a log - A perfect introduction to green wood working. With expert tuition from Wooden Tom, you will be guided to safely use hand tools such as a knife and carving axe to create your own spoon. This is a great course to learn many of the grounding skills in one day which are transferable to other carving projects. During the day you will learn the following skills: To use an axe to accurately cleave wood; Correct use of the carving axe to rough out the shape of your spoon; Safe use and cutting techniques with the carving knife and gouge. Please come well prepared, wearing layers, as we hope to be outside for as much of the day (weather permitting) as possible. In this full day, lunch (Soup, sandwiches and cakes) is included with as much freshly made coffee or tea as you may need. At the end of the day there will be a chance to buy some of the tools you have used if you like.
