We are really excited to be able to offer Bronze Casting workshops at Honey Pot with Eden from Fire, Forge and Furnace. This is a rare opportunity, spaces are limited so don't delay.
Suitable for age 12+ under 16's must be accompanied by an adult.(They don't need to participate) What will you be doing over the course of the day? You'll make your unique relief design in clay first, then you'll 'ram' resin bonded sand on top. Once the sand has set your mould will be prepared for casting and the furnace lit! It takes about 40 minutes for the bronze to come up to temperature (around 1200C degrees) then you'll pour the molten bronze into the mould. Once the metal has cooled you'll crack open your mould and see what is there! exciting !!
Lunch and drinks throughout the day included.
NB:Participants should wear sturdy boots and trousers. Long hair will need to be tied back. Protective clothing will also be provided.
