NEXT 6 WEEK BLOCK DATES
Thursday Evenings 6.30pm - 9pm

A great present for you or someone in your life who would love to learn a whole new craft.
Suitable for beginners or those who have already attended one of our evening workshops, but want to try some different techniques.
Week 1 - Introduction to glass cutting.
You will be taken through the different types of glass we use and shown techniques for cutting glass and layering. at the end of the class you will have created two bright and colourful glass coasters.
Week 2 - Fun With Frit
You will learn two different techniques using powdered glass known as frit, learning to stencil and using frit slurry to create marbled effects. At the end of the class you will have produced two hangers.
Week 3 - Embelishments with Flame
You will learn to manipulate glass rods using a flame to make a range of embellishments from stringers and noodles to create more organic shapes for your fused glass artwork.
Week 4 - Using metal embellishments
Learn the technique for using brass and copper inclusions, creating shapes to add another level of interest to your fused glass. At the end of the class you will have created two coasters one with embellishments only and one with coloured glass, frit and metal embellishments.
Week 5 - Introduction to enamels
You will be learn how to use glass enamels. This technique will bring various types of enamel together to create a layered project. During the class you will 2 10cmx 10cm coasters or one large 10cm x 20cm piece using artisan bubble powders as a base and layering with NT colours and accents.
Week 6 - Slumping and Final pieces
You will be able to choose your favourite technique to create a final piece of your choosing, be it a coaster or wall hanger.
NB: Different glass projects are fired at different temperatures which means that there may be a few week sometimes for pieces to be ready.
The Cost for the 6 week course is £240, all materials will be provided as well as tea's and coffee's or cold drinks during the workshop.
At anytime if you wish to create extra items using the same techniques then extra glass can be purchased payable on the evening.
However, students must know how to cut glass before attending one of the other weeks (So either attend the first week and then the week of your choice).
individual glass nights are available too, if you are unable to commit to the full 6 weeks.
NB: No open toed shoes to be worn during class.
