Kids Friday Art ClassIn this block we are going to be finding out all about the famous Dutch Vincent Van Gogh.
3.30pm - 5pm Suitable for kids now in P3 - P7/S1 22nd April - Mark making inspired by Van Gogh. In this week you'll practise how to create the same types of distinctive marks that great painter made in all of his paintings. 29th April - TRIP to see the Van Gogh Live Experience in Edinburg. Link to book the 4pm session: https://vangoghaliveedinburgh.online.red61.co.uk/event/1309:1/ For those that can we'd like to visit this exhibition which will bring Van Gogh and his paintings to life for you and inspire you to come back to future classes to create your own masterpieces. (Our plan is to meet outside the venue at 3.45pm, artists will need to make their own way there with an adult). *Please book this separately yourself. 6th May - Self Portrait In this week we will be working on your own self portrait. Please bring a photo of yourself, ideally poised like Van Gogh in his self-portraits. If you don't have access to a printer, send your photo by email to us (couple of days beforehand) and we will print it off ready for the class. 13th May - Sunflowers In this week we'll be using a very limited colour palette to recreate one of Van Gogh's most famous paintings of sunflowers. 20th May - Your Bedroom You'll be painting your bedroom just like Vincent did to capture a place of rest and calm. Think about what you love about your room. 27th May - Starry Night Perhaps one of the most recognisable paintings in Western Art. To finish this block we'll be attempting our own version of this wonderful painting. NOTE: Kids will be making preliminary sketches for some of their art works. For kids who attended the sketching block, please can you bring your sketch books each week. If you don't have one, these are available in our shop . |
