Archaeological Dig, Beach Walk and Clay animals in association with Fife Young Archaeology Club. AGE 5+ Bring a packed lunch as lunch is not provided.
These exciting workshops will transport children back in time (over 2,500 years, in fact).
First up we'll go on a short beach walk to search for pottery and to collect shells and sea glass, to bring back to the studio for identification.
Mark Seaborne, Archaeologist, will introduce the kids to the process of excavation and identification of 'finds' (pottery and animal bones (including sheep, horse and cow) in boxes which are provided as part of the workshop. Kids will have fun digging in the find boxes and recording their finds.
After lunch we will be focussing on animal reconstruction and kids will be able to model an animal (horse, cow or sheep) using either wire and modrock or clay.
£20 per person. Please bring packed lunch and change of footwear.
