We are really excited to be able to offer this low alloy metal casting workshops at Honey Pot with Eden from Fire, Forge and Furnace. Booking essential.
Suitable for age 7+ under 16's must be accompanied by an adult.(They don't need to participate)
This is an opportunity to make a small cast such as a medal or piece of jewellery cast in a low metal alloy.
You will carve into two halves of the shell of a cuttlefish to create your 3D design. This will be securely taped together before you pour in your molten metal alloy.
In preparation it might be an idea to start thinking about what you might like to cast - cuttlefish are small (around 7 to 10 cm) , but a small figurine or coin can be pressed in as an alternative to carving and we will have some items with us you can use!
Suitable for ages from 7 upwards and a great intergenerational learning experience
NB:Participants should wear sturdy boots and trousers. Long hair will need to be tied back.
