Kids Art Block 2026Inspired by Delft ! Next block: Fri 27th Feb - Fri 3rd April In this block we'll be taking inspiration from the wonderful world of Delft! Delft is an iconic Dutch earthenware made famous by the surface decoration of cobalt blue on a white background. Kids will work on designing four tiles which work together as a panel. Fridays 3.30pm - 5pm Suitable for kids now in P3 - P7/S1 27th Feb and 6th March: Tile Design We'll be sketching and planning our designs of four tiles which will be transferred onto tiles. 13th March: Charcoal Rubbings We'll be tracing and using charcoal to transfer their designs on to the tile surface. 20th and 27th March: Painting tiles Using porcelain paints we'll be painting our tiles before setting them in the oven. 3rd April: Grouting and mounting tiles one to boards for display. Finally touches - tiles will be set on to boards using grout. This will be messy - so probably best that kids have a change of clothes! |
We have been running our Friday afternoon Kids Art block for several years and have introduced our young artists to various mediums, techniques and different artists.
