Colour and Pattern WorkshopsOctober - Thursday Nights 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th 6.30-9.00pm Join us for a series of workshops designed to explore colour, pattern, and creative mark-making. Led by Emma Richardson, from Call of the Wild, this 4-week block invites you to experiment, play, and explore a variety of techniques across different materials and surfaces, creating a lovely collection of handmade pieces! Emma creates vibrant, intricately designed artworks that captures the beauty of the wild. Through her small business, Call of the Wild Studio, Emma translates her passion for surface pattern into art prints and ceramics, and alongside this she also works here in the studio at Honey Pot! Come to one or all four sessions and leave feeling inspired to bring colour and pattern into your own home! Weekly Breakdown Week 1: Gouache on Ceramics – Painting a Decorative Plate Explore surface pattern and bold colour combinations as you design and paint your own ceramic plate using gouache. Learn different decorative techniques to create a striking piece of art, inspired by Folk Art from across the world, in true Call of The Wild style! This is a decorative piece only. Week 2: Botanical Gel Plate Printing - Discover the magic of gel plate printing as you create a collection of unique botanical prints. Experiment with layering colour, texture, and botanicals using a variety of tools and mark-making techniques. Week 3: Lantern Painting Design - Decorate your own lantern using tissue paper, collage and ink, to create a statement piece for your home! Week 4: Gold Foil Embossed Art - Create shimmering embossed designs using gold foil, inspired by Mexican Tin Art. Experiment with mark-making to produce pieces that can be framed or turned into decorative bunting. Price £160 for the full 4-week course or if you can't do all 4 then you can book individual workshops £40 per person. Whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned creative, this series is all about exploration, play, and embracing colour and pattern in a joyful, expressive way.
